  4.      DESC_NAR.COM -- Utility for Melding DESCRIPT.ION and NARATIVE.CF Files

  8.           DESC_NAR is provided as a freeware adjunct to the CMFiler shareware
  9.      disk/file manager for 4DOS/NDOS users.  Both CMFiler and 4DOS/NDOS have
  10.      the capability to attach notes to files and directories, to help remind
  11.      you of their contents.  The 4DOS/NDOS notes are contained in files in
  12.      each directory called DESCRIPT.ION, the CMFiler notes in files called
  13.      NARATIVE.CF.

  15.           Unfortunately, I wrote CMFiler's notes facility before I had any
  16.      knowledge of the convention and format already available in 4DOS/NDOS,
  17.      and now the investment of time and risk of introducing logic errors into
  18.      CMFiler's notes facility by attempting a rewrite it at this late date to
  19.      shift to the 4DOS/NDOS DESCRIPT.ION convention is simply too great.

  21.           So I have done the next best thing -- a conversion utility that
  22.      searches any disk you wish for all appearances of the 4DOS/NDOS-style
  23.      DESCRIPT.ION files and CMFiler-style NARATIVE.CF files, renames them to
  24.      *.BAK to preserve the original information, melds their combined
  25.      information, casts out duplicates, and generates new files in both
  26.      formats in each directory in which either style file had originally
  27.      appeared.

  29.            Simply run DESC_NAR.COM at the DOS prompt by typing DESC_NAR.  You
  30.      will be asked to press the letter of the drive you want searched and
  31.      DESCRIPT.ION and NARATIVE.CF files melded, and, when that drive is done,
  32.      whether you want to do another.  DESC_NAR requires 196k of free
  33.      conventional memory.

  35.           Version 1.1 accomodates entries in the DESCRIPT.ION file greater
  36.      than 39 characters.  The previous version truncated any entries greater
  37.      than 39 characters.

  39.           DESC_NAR is provided by the author as a freeware utility to
  40.      complement the CMFiler shareware disk/file manager.  It is offered as-is,
  41.      and is not warranted in any way.  C. F. Martin is not responsible in any
